Special Design High Pressure Heat Exchangers – ATR ASAHI, glass installations are known for their high operational reliability and extremely low maintenance requirements. ATR uses modular construction with Schott Duran 3.3 borosilicate glass for the chemical plant construction as it has got all the flexibility for providing corrosion resistant installations to withstand temperatures as high as 200 deg C. Other corrosion-resistant materials of construction such as glassed steel, tantalum, titanium , PTFE, graphite etc are routinely combined with Schott components to provide an optimum solution for a particular application or process duty.
All ATR plant and pipeline components are highly corrosion resistant and fully compatible and interchangeable. The Shell and tube heat exchangers are preferred components for chemical, pharmaceutical and related industries.
Universal corrosion resistance.
Excellent heat transfer.
Lowest possible pressure drop.
Space saving arrangement, since they can be installed in horizontal or vertical position.
Simple exchange of the inner tubes for repair and cleaning due to a design for ease of servicing.
Types designed for higher pressures on the shell side, in which pressure-resistant and corrosion resistant materials are used.
Types designed for higher pressures on the tube side which have end covers able to withstand higher stresses and which have metal inner tubes.
Types with silicon carbide (SIC) tubes for high heat exchange performance coupled with a compact construction.
Non-standard number of battles on the shell side side for liquid-liquid heat exchange.
Tube plates for higher pressure differences.
Larger exchange areas.
The particular advantage of shell and tube heat exchangers lien in the high heat exchange performance. The ATR’s modular construction system also permits individual adaptation to the intended application:
Four basic lengths of tube in accordance with DIN28180.
Three gradations of shell diameter enabling the number of tubes to be varied.
Single or multiple passes on the tube side.
The specific layout can be specified on the basis of standard design procedures. If the basic fluid properties are available, we will select the most favourable Schott Shell and tube heat exchanger using a computer program. This precise design, in combination with the experience gained in numerous applications; ensure economy and operational reliability for the user in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries.
ATR shell and tube heat exchangers are available in various standard sizes from 2.5 to 25 m2 of exchange area. The nominal widths of the shell are DN150, 200 and 300. The shell and the exchanger tubes consist of borosilicate glass, the headers are of borosilicate glass or stainless steel, and the end plates (tube sheets), seals and deflection segments (baffles) consist of PTFE.
The Shell side pressure in Glass Shell and Tube heat exchanger is limited to 2 bar on the shell side and tube side at DN 150 and 1 bar at DN 200 and 300.
